"Da Funk" was originally released as a single by Daft Punk in 1995, one year before they signed with Virgin Records, with the single receiving little attention or airplay at the time.
It was then later re-released at the end of 1996, after they signed a new record deal with Virgin, and eventually went on to peak at No.7 on the UK Charts, becoming their first top 40 hit single in the UK.
As of July 2005, Daft Punk have had 8 top 40 singles in the UK between 1997 - 2005, with "One More Time" being their highest charting single when it reached No.2 in November 2000.
