"Cigarettes & Alcohol" was released as a single by Oasis from their 1994 debut album "Definitely Maybe" and eventually went on to peak at No.7 on the UK Singles Chart in October 1994.
Alan McGee, who first discovered the band, claimed that the song was one of the greatest societal statements anyone had made in the past 25 years.
As of March 2009, Oasis have had 26 top 40 singles in the UK between 1994 - 2009, with only 3 of the singles failing to make the top 10.
