"(Something Inside) So Strong" was released as a single by Labi Siffre in 1987, and became his first hit single in the UK since 1972.
The single peaked at No.4 on the UK Charts in April 1987, and in the process, became his biggest ever hit single in the UK. Coincidently it would also be his last hit single in the UK.
Labi Siffre wrote the song as an anti-apartheid anthem, advising Africans to stand tall in the face of adversity.
