The single eventually went on to peak at No.3 in the UK Charts in September 1987, and it also hit the No.1 spot on the American Billboard chart for 2 weeks during October of the same year.
The video for the single was directed by Martin Scorsese and was heavily influenced by the 1961 film "West Side Story"
