"Word Up" was first released as a single By Cameo in 1986, and it eventually went on to peak at No.3 on the UK Charts in August 1986.
The single was the only top 10 hit the band had in the UK, although they did have other top 40 hits. In total, Cameo had 7 top 40 hits between 1984 - 1987.
Numerous other artists have covered the song since it's initial release, but this will be the version that most people will associate with the song.
