"Alive & Kicking" was originally released as a single in September 1985 by Simple Minds from their 1985 album "Once Upon A Time"

The single peaked at No.7 on the UK Charts in October 1985, and was the band's joint highest chart entry in the UK up until that point.

The song was also re-released in 1992 as a double a side to promote the Glitering Prize 81/92 best of Simple Minds album.
