"This Charming Man" was the second single released by The Smiths after their debut single, "Hand In Glove" failed to make the top 40 in the UK.
The single peaked at No.25 in the UK Charts in November 1983, and although not a big hit, it at least brought the band to the attention of the record buying public.
The single was also re-released in 1992, this time hitting the No.8 spot, becoming The Smiths highest charting single in the UK.
