The Original Version of "Red Red Wine" was first written & recorded by Neil Diamond, and was released as a single by him in 1968, reaching No.63 in America.
The song has been covered by numerous artists since it's initial release, but probably the most famous version was the one UB40 recorded for their Labour Of Love album in 1983.
UB40 released it as a single, and it hit the No.1 spot on the UK Charts in August 1983, becoming the band's first No.1 single in the UK.
