"Young Guns (Go for It)" was released as the debut single by Wham. The song was written by George Michael, and it eventually peaked at No.3 on the UK Charts in October 1982.
The band were fortunate to get a chance to perform the song on top of the pops in 1982, as their single was sitting just outside of the top 40 at the time. They were offered the chance to appear on the show at the last minute after another band had pulled out.
Wham opened the show, and were relatively unknown when they were introduced, but it wasn't long before they became a national phenomenon, taking the early to mid 80's charts by storm.
