"New Life" was released as a single by Depeche Mode from their 1981 debut album Speak & Spell, and was their first hit song in the UK.
The single eventually went on to peak at No.11 in the UK Charts in June 1981, and would be the start of a succession of hit singles that the band continue to have to this day.
In total, Depeche Mode have had over forty top 40 singles in the UK since New Life was released, but amazingly, they've never had a higher chart position than No.4.
