The single alone, sold over 1.4 million copies, making the song the 25th biggest selling single in the history of the UK Charts.
In 1981, Virgin Records were becoming aware of the importance of music videos, with MTV being launched that year, so they commissioned an elaborate and expensive promotional video for the release of the single.
