"Transmission" was the first single released in November 1979 by Joy Division on the now legendary Factory Records record label.
It wasn't a hit anywhere apart from in New Zealand where it went straight in at No.2 in September 1981.
In May 2007, NME magazine placed the song at No.20 in it's list of the 50 Greatest Indie Anthems Ever
