"Heart of Glass" was released as a single by American New Wave band Blondie, from the band's 1978 album, Parallel Lines.

The single topped the UK charts in January 1979, and would be the first of six No.1 singles Blondie would have in the UK.

At the time of it's release, there was an issue of the use of the expression "pain in the ass" within the lyrics which, at the time, did not sit well with the BBC. In the end, it had to be changed to "Heart Of Glass"
