"Peaches" was released as a single in 1977 by The Stranglers and was one of the big summer hits of that year peaking at No.8 in the UK Charts.

The B-side of the single, "Go Buddy Go" was played on UK radio at the time, because of the sexual nature of the lyrics which caused the BBC to ban it.

The radio cut had to be re-recorded with less explicit lyrics. "Clitares" was replaced with "bikini" "oh shit" with "oh no" and "what a bummer" with "what a summer"
