"Lust For Life" was released as a single from Iggy Pop's 1977 album "Lust For Life" and was co-written by Iggy Pop & David Bowie.
The Doors keyboardist, Ray Manzarek later stated in an interview that the opening lyrics were about their deceased heroin dealer, nicknamed "Gypsy Johnny" and also that it was a rip-off off The Doors Song "Touch Me"
Rolling Stone Magazine have ranked the song at No.147 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.
