"Virginia Plain" was released as the debut single by "Roxy Music" in August 1972, it was written by Roxy frontman Bryan Ferry.
The single, upon it's release, pretty much put Roxy Music on the map, it peaked at No.4 on the UK Charts and was to be the start of great things for the group.
The song was not present on the band's debut album, and had not even been recorded when the album was released. After the success of the album in the UK, it was included on later re-issues.
