"A Horse With No Name" was the first and most successful single released by the band "America"
The single was released in early 1972, and topped the charts in several countries around the world, peaking at No.3 on the UK charts. This is in spite of the fact that the song was banned by some radio stations because of supposed drug references.
The interpretation of the song as a drug reference comes from the fact that "horse" was a slang term for heroin.
