"All The Young Dudes" was originally written by David Bowie, and was first recorded and released as a single by Mott The Hoople in July 1972.

It went on to peak at No.3 in the UK Charts, and would be the biggest hit song they would ever have in the UK.

Now regarded as one of glam rock's anthems, the song came to be after Bowie came into contact with Mott The Hoople's bassist Peter Watts and learned that the band was ready to split due to continued lack of commercial success.
