"(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" was co-written by soul singer Otis Redding and guitarist Steve Cropper and was releasaed as a single by Otis Redding in 1967, shortly after his death.
The song would become the first posthumous single in American chart history.
Needless to say, it hit the No.1 spot all around the world in 1968, and rightly so.
