"On The Road Again" was released as a single in August 1968 by "Canned Heat" reaching No.8 on the UK Singles Chart and No.16 on the American Billboard Hot 100.

The song was adapted by Alan Wilson (lead singer of Canned Heat) from a song of the same name recorded in 1953 by Floyd Jones, a Chicago blues musician.

Floyd Jones' song was itself an adaptation of "Big Road Blues," recorded in 1928 by Delta blues musician Tommy Johnson.
