"I Say A Little Prayer" was originally written by songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David for Dionne Warwick in 1967. Aretha Franklin's version was the B side of her 1968 hit single "The House That Jack Built"
DJ's at the time flipped the single over and began playing her version, which was released 9 months after Dionne Warwick's version.
Aretha's version peaked at No.10 on the American Billboard chart and at No.4 in the UK chart, selling over a million copies.
