"All Along The Watchtower" was written and recorded by Bob Dylan in 1967. The song has been covered by many other artists over the years, but most notably, by the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
In 1968, the Jimi Hendrix version reached No.5 in the British Charts, and No.20 on the Billboard hot 100 chart.
Hendrix's version of the song appears at No.48 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.
Dylan said: "I liked Jimi Hendrix's version of this, and ever since he died I've been doing it that way... Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it's a tribute to him in some kind of way"
