"I Heard It Through The Grapevine" was a landmark song in the history of Motown Records, it was Written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong in 1966 and was first recorded by The Miracles.
Gladys Knight's version of the song reached No.1 on the Billboard R&B chart in November 1967, and stayed there for 6 weeks, it also made No.2 on the pop singles chart.
Although it's not the best known version of 'Grapevine' (Marvin Gaye's probably is) we still think it's a classic and it comes in at No.7 on our chart for 1967.
