"Runaway" was a No.1 hit single for Del Shannon on both the American Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the UK Chart in spring of 1961.

It was written by Shannon and keyboardist Max Crook, and became a major international hit.

Sadly, Del Shannon committed suicide in 1990 at the age of 56 after a long battle with depression.
