"Chantilly Lace" was written and originally performed by The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) in 1958.

The song reached No.12 on the UK Charts and No.6 on the American Billboard pop chart and was the 3rd most played song of 1958 in America.

Unfortunately The Big Bopper was killed in a plane crash on 3rd February 1959 along with Buddy Holly & Ritchie Valens, now more commonly known as 'The Day The Music Died'
