With his smash 1956 hit "Blue Suede Shoes" Carl Perkins virtually defined and established rockabilly music into rock & roll, and launched the now legendary Sun Records into national prominence.
He is regarded by many as one of the founding fathers of rock & roll and amazingly, this was the only recording by him to break the top 40.
The single peaked at No.10 on the UK Charts in May 1956, and was the only hit single he ever had in the UK.
