The Music We Specialise In

1950's

The 1950's produced some of the biggest names ever to grace a stage. Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, to name but a few.

This era is still as popular as ever to this day at many of the functions we do, and rightly so.

1960's

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Doors, Motown, Woodstock, Arguably the 1960's could be the greatest era for music there has ever been.

Culture also changed during the 60's, people were finally standing up to governments, oppression, segregation. The 1960's was a time for change, this was often reflected in the music being wrote.

1970's

Prog, Glam, Disco, Punk, ska, reggae, concept albums. This decade couldn't have been any more different from the previous one.

The 1970's has to of been one of the most diverse decades in popular music history.

1980's

Surely it all wasn't about dodgy hairdo's, overly colourful make-up, eccentric clothing, yuppies and greed being good? Thankfully, when you look back, it wasn't.

The 80's saw the rise of the synthesizer, acid house, new romantics, house & dance music, heavy metal, hip-hop & rap.

It also gave birth to some of the corniest songs ever written, Black Lace being at the forefront of this errrm.... movement?

1990's

Mad for it innit?

Indie music somehow managed to become popular, which, in a sense, made it pop music, so was it indie or was it pop? ahhh forget it, it was good whatever it was.

Dance music also become part of the mainstream in the 90's.

2000's

Maybe the jury is still out on the 00's, personally, we don't feel this decade can be judged for another 10 years or so, until the dust has settled, and you've sifted out the tons of manufactured pop.

The 00's still managed to produce some outstanding new talent, whether they stand the test of time or not, only time will tell.

Our Music Policy

The right music for an occasion, will vary from place to place, function to function, and from person to person, so it's important for Mobile DJs to have a good knowledge of different styles of music, so they know what style of music to play at any given event.

When we get asked to DJ at an event, be it a wedding, a 70's theme night, or a 40th party etc. we put a lot of thought into the songs we choose to play, and we base our song selection around the song requests or the brief you give us.

Instead of just blindly turning up at the venue, pushing a few buttons and playing whatever is in the top 40, what we do instead is, a few days before the event, we'll sit down & compile a play list that will fit in nicely with the theme of the event.

If you're looking for some inspiration for songs to choose for your next event, party, or maybe even your wedding, or if you're stuck for ideas for songs to choose, then this part of the site is a great resource.

It'll also give you an idea of the general style of popular & mainstream music, and maybe not so mainstream music we like ourselves.

These tracks we've picked out may not necessarily be what we'd play at an event, we play whatever style of music you & your guests want, these tracks are simply our own personal choice of the best singles or album tracks from each year.

Browse through any of the decades above and you'll see links to some of (in our opinion) the best music released from that period.

We've included some ultra rare live videos, so if you're a big fan of music, you'll love it.
